Thursday, June 1, 2017 at the Nail-Haggard Funeral home Chapel with Bro. jay Foster officiating. Burial will be in the Clark Cemetery.Gene was born on December 10, 1935 in Lawhorn, La. To Willie O. and Henrietta Wood. He died on Sunday, May 28, 2017 in Hughes Springs.He was a member of Grace and Truth Baptist Church in Lassater and a was retired from the oil field as a production foreman. Gene was a veteran of the U S Army.He was preceded in death by his wife Norma Dee Wood.Survived by his daughters and sons-in-law Pamela and Adam Cantu of Victoria, Ginger and Brad Wheat of Hughes Springs; son and daughter-in-law Gene and Manya Wood of DeQueen, Ark; grandchildren Chelsi Vissering and husband Billy of Longview, Lauren Cantu of Victoria, Kendall Wood of DeQueen, Ark., Kody Burns of Hughes Springs and Zachary Wood of DeQueen, Ark.Family will receive friends from 9 till 10 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
