Rhonda Sue Moore

January 15, 1959 ~ April 19, 2026

Born in: Morris County, Texas
Resided in: Daingerfield, Texas

Rhonda Sue Moore, 67, of Daingerfield, was born January 15, 1959, in Morris County, Texas, to Orville Martin and Edra Francis Flood. By her own account she was one of the first babies born at Hospital in the Pines. She passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026, in Daingerfield.
On March 21, 1983, Rhonda married Preston Lee Moore in Lubbock, Texas. Together they shared years of life, love, and memories that remained dear to her heart until his passing in April of 2019.
Rhonda was a woman of strong faith, deep love, and a spirited, unforgettable nature. She was of the Baptist faith, attended the Bar Nun Cowboy Ministries Church in Omaha and carried herself with strength, independence, and a heart that was always full of love for those she called family and friend. She lived life on her own terms, with determination, humor, and a spark that those who knew her will always remember.
She found happiness in the things she loved most. Rhonda enjoyed woodworking and crafting, creating with her hands and turning simple things into something special. She expressed herself through writing poetry and had a creative soul that shined in many ways. She also loved dancing and karaoke, bringing laughter and joy wherever she went. She enjoyed shooting pool, especially showing either of her boys who was boss, and shooting firearms as well, hobbies that reflected both her lively personality and her fearless spirit.
More than any pastime or hobby, Rhonda’s greatest joy was her family. Her sons and grandchildren were the center of her world, and she loved them fiercely and unconditionally. She was proud of them, treasured every moment spent with them, and found her deepest happiness in watching them grow. The love she gave so freely will remain in their hearts always.
Rhonda had a way of leaving an impression wherever she went. Her strength, laughter, honesty, and love made her one of a kind. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by all who had the blessing of knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Preston Moore; and her stepfather, Ed Huggins.
She leaves behind many family and friends who will cherish her memory, including her sons, John Latham “Lathe” Moore of Daingerfield and Lee Gatlin Moore of Dangerfield; her brother, John Roy Martin of Daingerfield; her sisters, Beverly Miller of Daingerfield, Glenda Fretwell (Johnny) of Daingerfield, and Toni Lea Seahorn (Wesley) of Gilmer; her stepmother, Doris Huggins of Gautier, Mississippi; her sisters-in-law, Sherry Rippetoe of Melissa and Laurie LaComb (Dave) of California; her brother-in-law, Alan Moore of Weatherford; and special friends, Teresa Staples of Daingerfield and Kay Dyson of Emory.
She is also survived by five granddaughters, Haylee, Journee, Rubye, Kylie, and Jordyn; her grandson, John Preston; her great-granddaughter, DJ; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
“Mom, we love you Moore!”
The family asks for prayers during this time. A celebration of life will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, April 25, 2026 in the Chapel of Horn Family Funeral Home of Daingerfield with Pastor Dwaine Higgins officiating. The family will receive friends and family beginning at Noon prior to the service.
