Pamela Ann Waites

Pamela A. Waites 75, of Lone Star was born on February 22, 1951 in Naples, Texas to Roy Hicks, Jr. and Dorothy Hicks. She went to be with the Lord on Friday evening, March 6, 2026 while at home. A life long resident of Morris County, Mrs. Waites worked for many years as a seamstress using her talents and keen eye for detail to mend and altar clothing for many in the community. A kind soul, Mrs. Waites loved life and nature. She especially loved to catch and eat fish. She found great joy in gardening and always enjoyed interior decorating. She attended Fellowship Baptist Church in Daingerfield and the First Baptist Church of Lone Star. Remembered as a gentle, soft and beautiful person, Mrs. Waites was preceded by her parents. She is survived by her beloved husband, Gary Smith of Lone Star; daughters, Valerie Waites of Hurst, Kristin Waites of Winnsboro; grandchildren, Savanah Romero, Nathan Jester, Hunter Waites; great grandchildren, Isabella Romero, Dorian Romero and sister, Rhonda Green of Daingerfield. A funeral service will be held at 1 pm Thursday, March 19, 2026 in the Chapel of Horn Family Funeral Home of Daingerfield. Burial will follow in Bradfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at Noon prior to the service.
