Mary Lynn Amerson

Mary Lynn Edmondson Amerson, age 83, loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully in the early hours of June 21, 2026. Lynn was born June 3, 1943, in Perryville, Arkansas to Irvin and Dora Rorie Edmondson and grew up surrounded by her large extended family of grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She attended school in Daingerfield. She married her husband William Amerson on February 14, 1960, and together they built a life together and had two children. She devoted her love and time to her husband and children during the early years of her marriage. Later she spent 25+ years as a program assistant for Farm Services Agency, US Department of Agriculture, from which she retired. Traveling was something she greatly enjoyed. And some of her favorites were family camping vacations, time at the beach and she particularly loved taking the grandkids on vacation.
Lynn is survived by her husband, William, her son David Amerson and his wife Karen, her daughter Kathy Rae and her husband Gary. She will be dearly missed by her five grandchildren, Carissa Welch and her husband Matthew, Ethan Rae and his wife Ana, Sarah Robinson and her husband Jay and Rachel Amerson and her husband Sean Sweeney. Lynn was also blessed with 11 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren whom she adored.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, June 28, 2026 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Hallsville Gold Hall at 101 Elm Street, Hallsville, Texas 75650. This will be an informal gathering with no scheduled program.
