Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. What I will always remember about my Uncle James was his sense of humor. I have so many memories of him making us laugh. One time Uncle James & I were sitting in their den & he said “watch this”…. He called out to Aunt Virginia & said somebody was there cutting down part of her favorite tree in their front yard . She came running so fast saying “THEY BETTER NOT TOUCH MY TREE !!” And Uncle James was laughing so hard & said “ That gets her every time”😂🥰
But what I saw in my Uncle James growing up was a man devoted to God and to his family. He was as solid as a rock and everyone could depend on him if they needed anything. I was always amazed at his green thumb & his ability to grow anything , whether it was his vegetable garden, or the rose garden he created for Aunt Virginia, and of course, his watermelons. And of course, he always had his cows & his amazing pond stocked full of fish. He could just call out to them & they would all swim over to greet him ( or looking to get fed) . He really enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. James and Virginia built a wonderful life together and life will never be the same again without him .

  2. I will always remember how kind, welcoming and generous James was to me from the time I first met him and later after Margaret and I were married and I became a member of the family. I always felt welcome and at home when I visited. In later years when I had to have surgery James and Ginger came to Amarillo and stayed with Margaret to help her while I recovered. Words can never express how much I appreciated that. I will miss you James. So long for now.

  3. James was the best brother you could have. He was like a father to me after I lost my father. He was so smart and always gave the best advice. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandpa. He always had a great garden and shared his bounty. He loved to mow and kept a beautiful yard and roses. You will be greatly missed. I loved you so much.
