Ida “Jeanell” Gilmore, age 95, of Lone Star, Texas, passed away peacefully on the morning of August 4, 2026. She was born on May 1, 1931, in Jenkins, Texas, to J. Frank White and Ebanell Harris. Jeanell was a devoted homemaker who loved her family dearly and faithfully attended Lilley’s Chapel Church of Christ.

Jeanell enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She loved fishing, listening to music, dancing, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was well known for baking Christmas cookies each year and sharing them with friends and people throughout the community.

She was preceded in death by her husband, P.L. “Pat” Gilmore; her parents, J. Frank White and wife Jeanette Connor White, and Ebanell Harris and husband Luther Thorne; her brothers, James Oswell White, Lynn White, and Jimmy White; and her nephew, James Keil.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Mike Gilmore and wife Debra of Lone Star, Texas; her grandchildren, Patrick Gilmore and wife Tina of Rockwall, Texas, and Vanessa Chisler and husband Jeff of Lindale, Texas; her great-grandchildren, Garrett Gilmore, Jack Carter, and Austin Chisler; her sister, Debbie White Young and husband Delwyn of Hughes Springs, Texas; her nephew, Chad White; along with numerous other family members and friends. The family would also like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Highland Meadows of Rockwall and Heart to Heart Hospice of Rockwall for the compassionate care they provided.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, in the chapel of Horn Family Funeral Home, with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Clark Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
