Brenda Sue “Susie” Thomas, a beloved resident of Daingerfield, was welcomed into her eternal home at the gates of heaven on September 11, 2026, where she was reunited with the love of her life, our precious Dad. She was also greeted by her parents and all her brothers and sisters who passed before her. She was 82 years of age.

Her entire life was one of unwavering devotion and enduring love for her family and her God. She never met a stranger and her beautiful smile lit up the room the second she entered. She was truly an angel on earth and now she has gained her heavenly wings.

She is survived by her daughters: Kimberly Thomas of Forney, TX, and Pattie Curtis, along with her husband, Matthew Curtis of Forney, TX, her granddaughter, Taylor Reid, along with her husband, Kyle Reid of Wills Point, TX, her grandson, Michael Curtis, along with his wife, Monica Curtis, and her great-grandchildren, Declan, Weslie, and Maggie of Greenville, TX.

The overwhelming sorrow of our loss is bearable only because of the promise from God that we will all be together again one glorious day.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Horn Family Funeral Home and Cremations in Daingerfield, Texas.

  1. Aunt Susie was a huge blessing to my life. I always loved her spirit and ability to make people smile. I will miss her.

  2. So sorry for your loss but she’s with our Lord & Saviour, her husband & loved ones. God Bless you & Kim & the family. She will be missed greatly but she’s really home now!! Love you🙏

  3. Susie was a beautiful example of what a Christian Mother should be. Her legacy is her two beautiful daughters, Pattie (my best friend of 53 years) and Kim. She was like a second mother to me growing up and I will be forever grateful that she and James took me to church with them. Thank you Lord Jesus for the lives Susie touched with her beautiful spirit. Rest in peace and love of the Saviour.

  4. Such a honor to have cared and loved her .she was such a character, always enjoyed our time spend together rest with angels you will be truly missed

  5. When I was pregnant with my daughter and working at Minyards on Hatcher Street, Ms. Thomas would send me home cooked meals. Although this was over 30 years ago, I’ll never forget how sweet she was.

  6. My deepest condolences to you both for the loss of your precious Mother. She is being celebrated and welcomed by family members preceded to her home going. She is a kind, loving lady. I am blessed to know her.

  7. Aunt Susie was always such a joy. I loved when she would visit Lula Mae and Bill (mamma and poc) when I was there. She gave the best hugs and was always laughing. I hold special memories of her and Mamma together. My prayers to all the family. What a joyous reunion we will all have one day.

  8. I met Susie & James Thomas when I was a teenager. I have known them for many, many moons. I am flooded with many memories I could share, because they have blessed me numerous times over the years. I adopted a Corgi, but he was in the state of Georgia. James & Susie both offered to drive and pick him up for me! They drove across 5 states and picked the pup up for me. They absolutely refused to accept any money for gas, expenses or their time. I will forever be grateful for knowing Susie & James Thomas, they always gave selflessly from the heart.
