Thomas Floyd SmithDaingerfield- Funeral services for Thomas Floyd Smith, 87, of Daingerfield will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, August 16, 2012 at the Nail-Haggard Funeral Home Chapel with Tim Gibbs and Norman Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Creekmore Cemetery in Naples.Mr. Smith died Sunday, August 12, 2012 in a Pittsburg Hospital. He was born January 28, 1925 in Naples.Floyd was a member of the Daingerfield Church of Christ and a veteran of the U S Army, having survived during WWII. He also was the owner of Smith Water Wells.Floyd was preceded in death by his wife, Nora Belle Smith.Survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Cassie Mullins of Mt. Pleasant, Regina and Ricky McNutt of Lone Star. Granddaughters, Denai Boyce & Geno Williamson of Amarillo, Chaney Warren & Adam Ware of Kilgore; great grandchildren, Jontavian Barkins, Aniyah Chism, Kash Chism and Zarriyah Edwards all of Mt. Pleasant, Malachi Meleik Boyce and Zenaija Williamson of Amarillo, paige Warren and Trevor Ware ; Niece, Valle Bourassa and spouse, Bob of Wyandotte, Mi.Family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M.     my father Julian Johnson served with “Smith” as he called him in WW II. He never forgot him and always wanted to keep in touch. Two years ago I found him and put them back in touch. I am so glad they were able to communicate until Smith was no longer able. Valerie thank you for you help with that. I am very sorry for you family’s loss.

  2. I will miss my Uncle Floyd, who was my mother Lucille Smith Carter’s youngest brother. He was the last of 6 children…Elmer “Arnold” Smith, “Estelle” Lorene Smith, Henry “Allen” Smith and Mary “Zell” Smith.

    So sorry to hear of Floyd’s passing. He was such a sweet man to all of us Spencer kids growing up. Stopped by to see him 2 summers ago when he was still living at home. Wonderful childhood memories.
