Janis Gay Terrell
Janis Gay Terrell, a beloved figure of Daingerfield, Texas, passed away at the age of 74. Born on November 28, 1951, in Naples, Texas, Janis was known for her caring, compassionate, and dedicated spirit.
Janis shared 42 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, Jack Terrell, of Daingerfield. She was a proud alumna of Daingerfield High School, Kilgore Junior College, and Stephen F. My father, Gary Helms, was the preacher for Lilley’s Chapel church of Christ, 2, different times.
I’m not 100% sure what year it was that we met Janis while she attended the congregation there … I just remember her smile. ♥
We’re praying for her family, as all of the Allens were, extremely, dear to us.
“Fly High, sweet Janis~”

I will miss Janis terribly. I already do. She was the perfect blend of sweet and sassy. If you needed something, Janis was there. And there will never be a better defender of “her people” than Janis. I loved her dearly. Always will.
Love always,

My heart has hurt ever since I heard of Janis’ passing. We have been the best of friends since the 1st grade, we called each other’ nearly everyday. We discussed school and our boy friends and shared our problems and our joys, we would cry together and laugh together, graduated together, commuted to Kilgore College together and have remained close friends until now. I remember we talked about God and church in school and as we got older. I will miss her wonderful smile. She loved her husband Jackie, her Sister Vickie and brothers David and Michael and all of her nephews and nieces as her own. She talked about them all of the time. I know she loved God, her church family dearly and her friends. Though I miss her sorely, we will see each other again as sisters in Jesus Christ. My prayers are for all of her family to be comforted with God’s comfort as only he can. I love you Janis my sweet dear friend, rest now in our dear Savior’s arms. You will always be remembered.
