Deepest condolences for the family of Laverne Falls. I worked with her at Smith Clinic for eight years, and I know she will be missed by all who love her. Rest In Peace, Laverne.
To the Extended Falls & Walker Families, with deepest regrets & condolences & abiding respect. It has been said by people much wiser than me that “People are blessings in your life. Some are blessings when they come into your lives & others are blessings when they leave your lives”. I was very fortunate to have met Laverne & Bill Falls when I was in my twenties; while I was working for Doctors Don & Buddy Smith. At first, I was unsure about Laverne; until I got past her at the time, gruff Office Manager exterior & discovered how tender of heart and pure of soul she was. I was very Blessed in that she & Mr. Bill became close friends of mine. It was a friendship that would last, I am fortunate enough to say, our lifetimes; including the day that we buried John Pate & Mr. Bill the same day. What most people did not know about Laverne was that she endured more physical pain in her lifetime than any one human being should have to endure; yet, I never once, in all the years that I knew her, let it show or anyone see it affect her. I am so grateful to God for allowing me to be fortunate enough to have known her & Bill. She was a dear friend & I loved her dearly. I will miss her for the rest of my life. To the families; please take comfort, as I do, that she is now free of physical pain, limitations & bonds; and is definitely in a far better place than we are. I hope, for her sake, that she is sitting at a long table in Heaven, enjoying a meal & the comfort of the company of our Saviour, Mr. Bill & their relatives & friends…. God knows she has earned it. To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die… May God Bless You All; now & in the days ahead.. Respectfully submitted with great reverence & Love….
I am so sorry that I did not know of Laverne dying until last Thursday. I would have been there with the family. Will try to get Dickie’s address in Frisco since Dana lives there also.As the person said in one of the memos, Laverne was special. She grew up in an age that disabilities were not treated as commonplace as they are now. Every time I saw her and heard her laugh, she made me feel special. Just think of all our relatives that she is with again.
