Vivian Ann Wells, age 87 of Ore City, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on March 3, 2026. She was born on July 8, 1938 in New London, Connecticut to John Henry and Mary Elizabeth Webber Dodge. Vivian was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joe Bob Wells; her parents; sister, Mary Carkin; and brothers, Edmund Dodge and John Dodge.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Wells, Jeannie Fields and husband Michael, her son, Bobby Wells; grandchildren, Taylor Ross, Caylen Wells, Leah Klein and husband Richard, Miranda Soto and husband Oscar, Austin Fields, Whitney Messier, Adam Knight and Misty Weese and husband Luke; great-grandchildren, Cooper Scaggs, Liam Wells; sisters, Laura Lew, Patricia O’Day, and Catherine Green.
Vivian married the love of her life Joe Bob Wells and dedicated her life to her family. To know Vivian was to know pure joy and genuine kindness. As a mother, she was nothing short of wonderful-caring, devoted, and fiercely protective of her children and grandchildren, who were the absolute center of her world. As a navy wife, she traveled the world with her husband and family, and that love of travel stayed with her. Her compassionate heart extended far beyond her family. As an animal lover, she doted on her beloved dog Sparky “Darlin” and her spunky cat Otis, who in truth ruled the house. Vivian loved to entertain, her home was filled with music and laughter and even played the drums in a band with her husband performing at local VFW posts. Her practical jokes are legendary. She will be remembered for the way she made the world feel a little brighter, a little warmer, and a lot more fun.

Miss you! You were such a presence, always in motion, warm, affectionate and kind. Hard to imagine you and that presence is gone. You should have had more good years, but I will remember the ones you gave me. You were always an entertainer. Can’t help but wonder what is going on up there right now.
