Mrs. Nance passed away peacefully early Friday morning, June 30, 2023 at home surrounded by loved ones. She was a homemaker and enjoyed a variety of activities, including quilting, arranging floral wreaths and wall décor. She also loved baking and was an avid seamstress. Affectionately known as “Red Bird” she was born June 6, 1935 in Cason, TX to John and Eva Ragsdale. She loved her Lord, was a very Godly woman was a longtime member of the Assembly of God. Mrs. Nance was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Dock; sisters, Maydale Young and Artie Davis; brothers, John Hardy Ragsdale and James Ragsdale; son-in-law, Randy Taylor and grandson, Casey Taylor. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving daughters, Kathy Rhyne and husband Richard, Linda Taylor, and Debbie Kelso and husband Rodney; grandchildren, Brandon Rhyne and wife Kayla, Jason Rhyne and wife Cassie, Justin Taylor and wife Kassity, Clay Taylor and wife Katelyn, Eric Kelso and wife Amanda and Kayla Kelso; great grandchildren, Peyton Rhyne, Bradley Rhyne, Kamryn Taylor, Mathis Taylor, Michael Taylor, Lily Maricelli, Bryleigh Granger, Penelope Kelso, Eleanor Kelso, Charlotte Kelso, Quentin Kelso Maude Kelso, MaiCee Rhyne, Addison Rhyne, Kolby Green and Thomas Green. Also, her sisters-in-law, Faye Steed and Evelyn Ragsdale and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, July 3, 2023 at Spring Hill Cemetery in Cason with Rev. Justin Taylor officiating. Services have been entrusted to the Horn family at Horn-Nail-Haggard Funeral Home of Daingerfield. The family will receive friends on Sunday night, July 2, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Cypress Basin Hospice of Mount Pleasant for their loving and professional care during this difficult time.

    This world is a lesser place without them in it; but I rejoice in the fact that they are now with their Lord and Savior……

    We can only aspire to live our lives as they did……

    To live in hearts that we leave behind is not to die……

    They live on through their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren…..
