I’ve had two friends in my life that were so close that I felt like they were an extension of me and I of them. Stephen Strawn was one of them. I believe it was 1977 when he and I along with Eddie McGee and Mason Hughes were somehow at the age of 16 allowed to set out for Eddie’s sister’s place in Dallas (Mason driving) with big plans and tickets to see KISS (Styx opening) in Fort Worth. We no sooner got to Eddie’s sister’s place and Stephen heads to the pool for a swim. He did love to swim! Not realizing the shallow nature of the pool, he commences to dive in as we watched on. Seconds later he emerged with blood pouring down his forehead!
Well not to worry, a band aid later and we are off to the show! I doubt anybody ever doubted his toughness and loyalty!
Until we meet again my friend. Love ya!
