Stephen "Steve" Brantley, 66, of Longview was born on January 23, 1958 in Big Spring, Texas to Charles and Joyce Brantley. He passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024 in a Longview hospital. After graduating from high school, Steve joined the US ARMY where he would proudly serve his country. Coming from a family of golf pro's, Steve followed in his fathers footsteps and was a pro at several courses. He worked as a pro for Buster's for several years and even managed several country clubs in East Texas. He was an electrician by trade and had many things that he enjoyed in life including bingo. Steve was a very talented musician and played with many bands through the years. He even mentored some of today's most popular stars. He was a man with a great sense of humor and was extremely Whitty. Perhaps one of the things he was best known for by those who knew him the best was his favorite saying, "Sorry I Blew Up." Steve was preceded in death by his parents. Those left to cherish his many memories include his wife of 34 years, Cynthia Brantley; sons, Brandon Freeman and wife Tonya, Michael Freeman; grandchildren, Michael Freeman, II, and wife Megan, Alexis Freeman, Abagail Freeman, Dylan Freeman, Gage Hartsock; great grandchildren, Haven Freeman, Arabella Freeman, Evie Freeman and one brother Richard Brantley. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM, Friday, November 22, 2024 at Lewis Chapel Cemetery in Longview. Burial will follow under the direction of Horn-Nail-Haggard Funeral Home of Daingerfield.
