Robert HammondsDaingerfield- Services for Robert Hammonds, 78 of Daingerfield will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 30, 2016 at South Union Baptist Church with Bro. Chad Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the Daingerfield Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home.Robert was born on March 31, 1938 in Omaha and passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 in Longview.He was a member of First Baptist Church in Daingerfield. Robert resided in Daingerfield for the past 52 years with his wife Marianne. He worked for Irvin Enterprises for 25 years, went into the transportation business for 10 years and worked for Tri-City Charter for 12 years serving as the safety director for the past 2 years. He was a Veteran of the U S Army, loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather with a passion for corvettes, motorcycles and all things on wheels.Robert was preceded in death by his father Harlan "Holly" Hammonds.Survived by his wife Marianne Hammonds of Daingerfield; mother Irene Hammonds of Omaha; son and daughter-in-law Mike and Shawntay of Fort Worth; sister Rena Watson of Texarkana; grandchildren Kaleigh and Kaden; many nieces and nephews.Family will receive friends from 6 till 8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home

  1. I never really knew Robert personally, but I can remember when CB ing was the thing he was on the air a lot. And when I saw the Tri City bus parked at his house I would think Robert is going somewhere that I wish I was going! So sorry for his passing. God bless his family.
