Richard "Richie" Duane McClellan Jr.

Richard Duane McClellan Jr, 68, of Daingerfield, Texas, passed away on October 22, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was born on January 10, 1957, in Gilmer, TX, and graduated from Daingerfield High School with the Class of 1975.

Richie worked as a car salesman and was a member of South Union Missionary Baptist Church. He loved his family, fishing, tinkering with motors, taking care of his cows, baling hay, and listening to rock and roll music.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Duane McClellan Sr.; his brother, Danny Mayo McClellan; and his nephew, Kevin Hughes.

He is survived by his sons, Duane McClellan of Arlington, Dylan McClellan of Jenkins, and Michael McClellan of Arlington; his mother, Shirley McClellan of Daingerfield; sisters, Karen Hicks and husband Hal of Abilene, and Angela Gilmour and husband David of Daingerfield; and nieces and nephew, Kelsie, Meghan, Molly, Ian, and Payton; and his loyal fur baby Jake.

Visitation will be held from 5:00–7:00 p.m. Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Horn Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 27, 2025, at South Union Missionary Baptist Church, with interment to follow at Clark Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may also be made to South Union Baptist Church.
