Ray Cobb CochranDaingerfield - Memorial services for Ray Cobb Cochran, 80, of Daingerfield will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 11, 2011 at the Nail-Haggard Chapel with Rev Ben Terry officiating. Ray was born September 1, 1931 in Rosebud, Texas to Connie Lee & Vera Cochran and died Thursday, September 8, 2011 in Daingerfield.Mr. Cochran grew up in Falls County, graduated from Rosebud High School and attended Blinn Jr. College and Baylor University. He went into Chamber of Commerce Administration, serving as Chamber Manager in Trinity and Linden. After a career with National Educators Insurance Company, the family moved to Daingerfield and purchased The Daingerfield News. Ray spent years conducting breakfast services at Star Drug, The Dairy Queen & McDonalds. After retirement from Combine Underwriter, he bought the Ole Ice House and sold antiques, collectables & junk. On Friday and Saturday, he entertained his customers with tales of the "Good Old Day". He was featured on Farm & Ranch News with Horace McQueen. He was preceded in death by his mother, father & brother, Dean.Survivors include his wife, Paulene Cochran of Daingerfield; sons, Connie & wife, Kathy of Cedar Park, Cyle of Gilmer, Caryl & wife, Dianne of Albuquerque, NM; & Cary of Daingerfield; grandsons, Paul & wife Helen of Leander, Chase & wife, Candy of Hughes Springs, Patrick of Huntsville, Al., Casey of Daingerfield; granddaughters, Krissy & husband, Paul Malone of Denver, CO., Meagan & husband Aaron Jackson of Little Elm, Allie Cochran of Dallas, Clair Cochran of Denton, Loren Cochran of Magnolia, AR.; great-granddaughters, Katie & Kasey of Leander; great-grandsons, Cameron of Leander, Colyn of Longview & Charlie Jackson of Little Elm; two step-great grandchildren, Riley & Cameron of Hughes Springs; sister, Connie Reese of Belton; nephew, Robin & wife Teresa of Belton; niece, Kim & husband Roscoe Parr of Killeen.
