Peggy Barnard

Peggy, also known as Nana, loved, and was loved by everyone. She was born on July 19, 1937 and passed away early Friday morning, June 30, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. Her family was her life and she loved them all dearly. She not only raised her children but many grand and great grandchildren as well.. Cooking and sewing was her passion. She could throw things together on a whim that you would not think of and make it a meal and be delicious. She and Cloven were porch sitters in their golden days; watching the birds and hummingbirds brought her much joy along with watching her flowers grow in the yard and most recently her kittens. If you knew Peggy - you were blessed. Peggy is preceded in death by her Father, William Leroy Griffin; Mother, Earline Lavada Griffin; Son, Larry Lindle Barnard; and her three brothers and one sister. Peggy is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Cloven Barnard; children, Paula Williams, Misty Stutsman, Stephanie Blhom, Mindie Rhyne, Sharion Crawley; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Services for Peggy Barnard, 85, of Daingerfield will be held on Monday, July 3, 2023, at 10 AM, at Veal Switch Missionary Baptist Church. The family will be accepting friends at Horn-Nail-Haggard Funeral Home Sunday night from 5-7. Those serving as pallbearers include Randall Crawley, Josh Williams, Richard Barnard, Chris Barnard, Allen Barnard and Waylon Helms.
