Paul Conner Alexander was born on February 12, 1933 in Pittsburg, Texas to very loving parents, Paul Carl and Authella Drew Alexander. He passed from this life on January 6, 2023 in Pittsburg, Texas. Paul graduated in 1951 from Pittsburg High School. He was drafted into the US Army shortly thereafter where he was deployed to Germany. Paul met and married the true love of his life, Gail Nelson. They were united in marriage on March 31, 1972 and he gained two bonus daughters as a wedding present. Thirteen months later, Paul and Gail became new parents to a bouncing baby boy named Paul Christopher Alexander. Chris proved to be just like his dad in that he loved to fish and hunt. He brightened their lives for 12 short years before leaving to be with Jesus. Paul continued to step up his father role to Melinda and Marcy. Several years ago, Paul met his biological daughter, Leah Reagan, and they enjoyed their relationship. He loved his three daughters very much. He accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior in his youth and was a member of First Baptist Church for over 45 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends at the lease. He was also an avid musician and loved playing the guitar and mandolin. He retired from Lone Star Steel after 32 years as a Security Guard. He enjoyed being with his family and friends, cracking jokes, and telling stories. Many tales have been told around the dinner table. He is survived by his three daughters, Melinda Betts and Casey of Naples. Marcy Pegues and Dearll of Daingerfield, Leah Reagan and James of Pittsburg. Grandchildren Candace Sibley and husband Derick, Brandi Betts, Brooke Johnson and husband Cody, Caty Reed and husband Robert, Madison Pegues, Matt Laden and wife Michelle, Harrison Reagan, Michael Betts, and Gracie Reagan. His great grandchildren are Kilee and Connor Johnson, Carson, Jaxson, and Addilyn Sibley, Aubrey and Thomas Reed, and Lena Laden. Paul is preceeded in death by his parents, Paul Carl and Authella Alexander; son, Chris Alexander; and wife, Gail Alexander. Paul will be greatly missed by his family, his church friends, his hunting buddies, and all those who knew him. We find comfort in knowing that he has been healed and reunited with those that entered heaven before him.
The family wishes to thank you for your prayers at this time.

Paul was good man and friend. Always had a smile and a positive comment when you drove through the gate. I thank him for our friendships from the plant, but even after I lost my Doug when he called to check on me. He missed his Gail so much. You are pain free now and I can see your big smile.

Paul and I fished together about every week from 2005 to 2021. I never heard a foul word exit his lips. And for a fisherman that is saying a lot especially when the big one got away. A very good friend and companion. He loved his family and his church. You will be missed but I know you are feeling a lot better up there with GOD.

I enjoyed playing guitars with Paul. He knew how music was supposed to sound and was an accomplished musician. He lived only a few blocks from me. I hope he rest in peace.
