November 7, 1940 ~ December 16, 2023

Patricia Ann LeFevre was born on November 7, 1940, in Columbia, Louisiana, to parents Ira Emmit & Thelma Emma Dell Smith. She grew up in Houston, Texas, where she attended school and later met Tom LeFevre. They married in 1957, moved to Luraville, Florida, and had 4 children: Lisa, Lynn, Cory, and Leigh Ann. In 1967, they settled in Daingerfield, Texas, and lived on Lone Star Lake. The family attended South Union Baptist Church. Pat was a homemaker and her joy was cooking and caring for her family. She loved to sew, making many of her children’s clothes, including her daughters’ wedding gowns. She valued friends and community, and enjoyed participating in Bible studies. Her heart’s desire was to serve God and others. As her children grew older, Pat worked for a local optometrist, and then as a church secretary. One of her greatest challenges and blessings was working with a ministry for struggling teenage girls. At the age of 50, she enrolled at Kilgore Jr. College and graduated with a 4.0 average. She worked as a secretary in the college library until her retirement in 2002. She treasured time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and made each one feel special and dearly loved. Family and friends, and so many who crossed her path, were also blessed recipients of her love. Pat passed away peacefully in her home on December 16, 2023 with her family present. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Lawana Ogden, Tom LeFevre, and grandson Randal Free. She is survived by her children Lisa Free of Daingerfield, Lynn Lynn and husband Ken of Spring, Cory LeFevre and wife Cresta of Daingerfield, and Leigh Ann Kingston and husband Ken of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren Cary Free, Seth Free, Ash Free, Lynlee Staff, Jordan Kingston, Hannah Kingston, JT LeFevre; 10 great-grandchildren. Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Pat will always be remembered on earth for her spirit of kindness. Truly a child of God.
    Galatians 5:22-23

  2. Lisa, Lynn, Cory, and Leigh Ann,
I am saddened to hear of the recent passing of your mother Pat. I have many fond memories of her and your family from my childhood. The things I remember the most about her were her positive attitude, her gracious warmth, her hearty laugh, and her beautiful smile. She always made me feel welcome in your home when I was there. She had a presence about her that made me feel special, a feeling I’m certain that many others who knew her experienced as well. I’m confident that as her children she loved you well, and I grieve with you the loss of someone so dear.

  3. Dad (Bill Hill) called and told me the news. So many special memories of vacation there as a child. Her teaching us to ski, her loving welcoming spirit, beautiful smile and will never forget her laugh. Thankful got to see her and Leigh Ann several yrs ago. May peace be with you all! Teri

  4. She was a very caring woman for those who were hurting. She will be missed. I’m praying for your family.
