O G "Jim" StanleyDaingerfield- Memorial services for O G "Jim" Stanley, 77 of Daingerfield will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 14, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dan Gilliam and Bro. Scott Darby officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 P.M.Jim was born on January 8, 1939 to Levi Abraham and Lorene Brock Stanley in Fort Francis E. Warren Military Base in Cheyenne, WY. and died on his birthday January 8, 2016 in Daingerfield.He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, graduated from Daingerfield High School, Steven F. Austin University and Baylor School of Law and was a member of the State Bar Associations of Texas and Colorado. Jim was a former District Attorney for Morris County, a Municipal Judge in Colorado and served as President of the Colorado Municipal Judges Association.Jim was preceded in death by his parents and sister Gaynelle Stanley Smith.Survived by his wife Sue Owens Stanley of Daingerfield; daughters & son-in-law Terri & Rick Lane of Jefferson, Tina Stanley of Daingerfield; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Deb and Galen Smith of Daingerfield; grandchildren Amanda & Chip Foster of The Woodlands, Dr. Marty & Natalie Lane of Edmonds, WA., Amy & Alan Yowell of Owasso, OK., Sam & Misty Lane of Longview, Angela Rowton & Darrick Croley of Daingerfield, Robin Hollis of Garland. 16 very special and treasured great grandchildren; numerous well loved nephews and nieces.In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to First United Methodist Church of Daingerfield, Heart to Heart Hospice or charity of your choice..

  1. I remember the good looking older brother of. my playmate, Gaynelle, when I was very young. I grew up knowing the family and admired Jim from then until .now.
