Thursday, September 27, 2012 at the Iron Bluff Cemetery with Larry Haley officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home.Mrs. Meeler was born January 16, 1927 in Lone Star and died Sunday, September 23, 2012 in Longview.Opal was a member of Lone Star Baptist Church, the Lone Star GadAbouts and the Iron Bluff Cemetery Association.She was preceded in death by her husbands, Clarence Meeler and Earl Harris.Survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cyndi and Robert Allen of Daingerfield; granddaughters, Steffanie Allen Stone of Stafford, Va., and Halie Allen of Plano;2 great grandson, Allen and Cross Stone of Stafford, Va.Sister, Helen Trammell of Lone Star.Family will receive friends from 9:30 till 10:15 Thursday at the funeral home.Donations may be made to Beacon Hospice of Longview, 5016 Gilmer Road, Longview, Texas 75604.Online condolences may be made at Nail-HaggardFH.com

Aunt Opal was dear and precious to me, Wiley, Marty, Laurie, and Paul. Wiley and Paul would have had no trouble speaking about her with love and affection at her service if they had not preceded her into Heaven. When she entered Heaven’s Gates on Sunday afternoon, she had so many of her loved ones waiting to say “Welcome.” I will always cherish my memories of her. To Cyndi, Robert, and Family I say “I love you.” We will all see her again. Love, Carmen Bennett

I will always have memories of Opal’s gentle manner and caring ways. To Cyndi, the very first best friend I ever had, I will never forget our glorious childhood days and how lucky we were to each have such loving parents.
