Nellie Marie Morehead, 99, of Daingerfield was born on March 13, 1926 in Celeste, Texas to Henry Clay and Linnie Bench. She passed away on June 28, 2025 in a Mount Pleasant nursing facility. Mrs. Morehead enjoyed working outside and gardening during when she was able. A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Mrs. Morehead was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James J. Morehead; brothers, Joe Ray Bench, Kenneth Bench; sisters, Aurda Mae Davis, Hazil Ivey; granddaughter, Monica Brock, and grandsons, Mark Harris and Rodger Strawn. Those left to cherish her many memories include her son, James Morehead and wife Rhonda of Daingerfield; daughter Shirley Sears and husband Wayne of Arlington; grandsons, Kolby Morehead and wife Joleen of Fayetteville, AR, Michael Harris and wife Elizabeth of Avinger; Jerry Brock of Daingerfield; granddaughter, Kristen Rambo and husband Danny of Texarkana, AR; great grandchildren, Laykin Rambo, Peatyn Rambo, Raylynn Rambo, Wrenley Rambo all of Texarkana, Heven Brock of Daingerfield, Dalton Brock of Daingerfield, Michael W. Harris of Fort Smith, AR, Rhec Brock of Daingerfield, Marc Daniel Harris of Longview, Kayleigh Jackson and husband Brandon of Mobile, AL, and Timber Anderson and husband Clint of Grand Prairie.
A service will be held at 10:00 AM at her graveside on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Bradfield Chapel Cemetery. Burial will follow under the direction of Horn-Nail-Haggard Funeral Home of Daingerfield. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM, Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at the funeral home.
