Monica Brock

A celebration of the life of Monica Brock, 43, of Daingerfield will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Church on the Rock, 909 Linda Dr. in Daingerfield with Pastor Randy Seybert officiating. Burial will follow in Nelson & Company Cemetery in Hughes Springs under the direction of Horn-Nail-Haggard Funeral Home of Daingerfield. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, March 3, 2023 at the Church on the Rock. Monica was born on December 11, 1979 in Deridder, LA to Buck and Shirley Strawn. She passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023 in a Tyler hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Monica was a 2022 graduate of Texas A&M University, Texarkana where she received a bachelor's degree in accounting. She graduated Phi Kappa Theta, was a member of the Honor Society and made the Dean's list multiple times. She loved working with the family business, William's Paint and Body in Daingerfield. She was a paramedic, CPR instructor and the clinical coordinator for the Paramedic department at Kilgore College. She loved working closely with the Longview Fire Department for student placement and clinicals. Monica had a great love for being outdoors. She loved to kayak, camp, and hike. She loved to ride 4-wheelers and their side by side and with bling. She was known as the "Momma of the Mothership" and was definitely a boujee "Outdoor Princess" that loved to dress up. As a loving mother, she loved to attend her kid's soccer games and was a huge supporter of Brock's Racing. She had a deep love for her family and friends and her dad was her best friend. A loving daughter, wife, mother and sister, Monica was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, James Jospeh Morehead, paternal grandparents, Leslie Scott and Etta Strawn; brothers, Roger Kyle Strawn, Marc Wesley Harris and half- sister, Janet Lee Strawn. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 24 years, Jerry Brock of Daingerfield; daughter, Heven Brock and Sebastian Harris of Daingerfield; sons, Dalton Brock of Daingerfield, Rhec Brock of Daingerfield; dad, Buck Strawn of Daingerfield; mother and step-father, Shirley and Wayne Sears of Arlington; brothers and sister-in-law, Michael Harris and wife Elizabeth of Avinger, Scott Strawn of Naples, Jerry Strawn of Longview; step-brothers, Kevin Sears, Tim Sears; grandmother, Nelly Morehead; uncle, James Ray Morehead; great aunt, Cloris Pruitt; great nieces, Destiny Marie Harris, Loralei Kamryn Byrd; great nephews, Brayden Wesley Harris, Noah Patrick Jackson; as well as 10 great step nieces and nephews. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include, Casey Hicks, William Sampson, Chris Barnard, Allen Barnard, Chris Carlisle and Greg Miner. Scott Nelson will serve as an honorary pallbearer; Eric "EB" Bruce and Josh Buckley will be alternate pallbearers. To honor Monicas legacy and love for saving lives, a scholarship is being established in her name.
