Michael Wayne Dublin

Michael Wayne Dublin, 81 of Daingerfield was born July 15, 1942, in Jacksonville, Texas, to Maurice Chapman and Mary Francis Dublin. He passed away at his home July 22, 2023. Having grown up farming, hunting, and fishing, Mike was an avid outdoorsman. He spent his free time and vacations revolving around these activities. After graduating from Jacksonville High School in 1960, he followed in his father's footsteps and joined the US NAVY, proudly serving his country during the Vietnam War. In the NAVY he trained to become a machinist, a career he continued in the private sector until his retirement. Mike worked as a machinist at Lone Star Steel (US Steel) from 1969 until 2011. He was also an active member of the VFW post in Daingerfield while it was in operation. After retiring, he enjoyed time spent tinkering with his tractors, garden, and around his home. He enjoyed making his morning trips with his beloved dog JR around Daingerfield, Lone Star, the bottoms, and to the store. He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife of 47 years, Jo Ann Dublin, grandson, Corey Dublin, and his favorite dog, JR. Those left to enjoy memories of him are his 2nd wife, Nancy, his 2 sons, and their wives, Cliff and Blanca Rosa Dublin and Don and Karla Dublin; 5 grandchildren, Katie, Allie, little Don, Holly and Olivia; 7 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 pm Sunday, July 30, 2023, in the Chapel of Horn-Nail-Haggard Funeral Home of Daingerfield. Burial will follow in Daingerfield Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers will be Cliff Dublin and Joe West. The Family will receive friends from 4 pm to 6 pm Saturday, July 29, 2023, at the funeral home, 400 Webb St.
