Funeral services for Mary A. Nix, 88 of Hughes Springs will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday, February 6, 2020 at South Union Baptist Church with Bro. Chad Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the Clark Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home.Mary was born on March 30, 1931 in Hughes Springs to Ray and Mamie Sue Goodson. She died on February 3, 2020.Mary was a member of South Union Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and friend that loved the outdoors. She was a very humorous lady.Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband Billy Nix and sister Raylene Beauchamp.Survived by her daughter Sheila Hammond and husband Dennis of Lone Star; son Dennis Nix and wife Paula of Lone Star; sister Beverly Sinclair of Pittsburg; brother Robert Goodson and wife Jacqueline of Hughes Springs; grandchildren Brent Strawn and wife Diana, Blake Strawn and wife Jordan, Ty Nix and wife Erin, Colby Nix, Haley Nix, and Billy Don Nix and wife Micah; great grandchildren Liam Strawn, Hannah Strawn, Hollye Strawn, Tucker Strawn, Lane Strawn, Kenzie Traylor, Mason Nix, Maddox Nix, Dallas Nix, Rowan Nix and Leighton Nix; several nieces and nephews.Family will receive friends from 10 A.M. till 11 A.M.     Mary was such a beautiful woman. I always admired her for her poise.It is always comforting when a Christian is taken home. I know she will be missed here, but you just have to think how wonderful it is to be with Jesus.
