Funeral services for Lou Ellen Hathcoat, 74, of Cason will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, October 17, 2022 at Pilgrims Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Emory with Pastor Keith Prather officiating. Burial will follow in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery under the direction of Horn-Nail-Haggard Funeral Home of Daingerfield. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Sunday, October 16, 2022 at the funeral home. She passed away on Wednesday afternoon, October 12, 2022 at her home, surrounded by family. She was born in Columbus, Georgia to Lewis James Coulter & Myrtle Lee McDaniel on February 29, 1948. On November 4, 1966, she married Billy Wayne Hathcoat; they had four children, Billy Don Hathcoat, Tracy Evon Shepherd, Julius Jerome Hathcoat, and Dixie Lee Brannon. Lou is preceded in death by both parents; son, Billy Don Hathcoat; daughter, Dixie Lee Brannon; grandson, Brandon Hathcoat; husband, Billy Wayne Hathcoat; brothers, Charlie Edward “Pete” Coulter; sister, Shirley Corrine Stringfield. Lou is survived by her children, Tracy Evon Shepherd and husband Daniel of Lysite, WY, Julius Jerome Hathcoat and wife LaJuana of Pittsburg, TX; sister, Sarah Evon Derderian of West Warrick, RI; sister-in-law, Barbara Ann Coulter of Plano, TX, Rosa Lee Burns of Lone Oak, TX; grandchildren, Corey Wayne Crump and wife Telesha of Cason, TX, Tatum Lynn Hathcoat of Commerce, TX, McKenzie Lee Lee and husband Tyler of Marshall, TX, Alyssia Ellen Holton and husband Kevin of Sulphur Springs, TX, Ashleigh Evon Hathcoat of Longview, TX, MaKayla Shante Brannon of Mt. Pleasant, TX, Destiny Denise Brannon of Forney, TX; great-grandchildren, Aniya Crump, Samantha Nicole Lee, Rayneh Grace Lee, Bryan Christopher Holton, and Nia Marie Cannon; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. .
