Lora Lavern ByrdDaingerfield- Funeral services for Lora Lavern Byrd, 80 of Daingerfield will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 12, 2014 at First Baptist Church in Cason with Bro Scott Darby officiating. Burial will be in the Clark Cemetery.\Arrangements are by Nail-Haggard Funeral Home.Lora was born on August 6, 1933 to John Harvey and Myrtle Sims. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 8, 2014. She was a member of South Union Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Lora was a homemaker.She was preceded in death by her husband John Byrd, sons Jason Byrd and Johnny Byrd, Jr.Survived by her children, Judy Kelly of Garland, Mike Byrd and wife Nonie of Mesquite, Cathy Dickerson and husband Dennis of Forney, Steve Byrd and wife Annette of Quinlan, Gary Byrd and wife Kathy of Cason, Torri Fleming and husband Daniel of Forney and Lora Horton and husband Steve of Forney; 2 brothers, Willie Bell Sims and wife Pat of Georgia and Louis Ray Sims and wife Dell of Tenn.; 17 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.Family will receive friends from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
