Lawrence Klekar

Mass of Christian Burial graveside services for Lawrence Klekar, 76, of Daingerfield will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at Our Lady of the Pines cemetery in Daingerfield. A visitation will be held in the chapel of Horn-Nail-Haggard funeral home from 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday, October 10, 2023. Lawrence W. Klekar (Larry) was born to Harry and Sue Klekar on September 11, 1947 in Orange, Texas. He went to be with our heavenly father on October 8, 2023. Mr. Klekar was born deaf but he did not let that hold him back. He graduated from Daingerfield High School in 1968 where he then went to work in Construction with Bobby Bardwell. Later in life he would start his own business where he worked until retirement. Lawrence could do nearly anything with his hands. He was an avid Texas Longhorn fan that wore his hat everywhere he went. He was an outstanding woodworker. His family described him as loving, caring, and hardworking. He was loved by everyone he met. He is survived by his sister; Pat Smith and husband Jimmy, nephews; Chris Smith and wife Christina of Center, Texas, Tommy Smith and wife April of Lufkin, Texas. Great nephews; Ayden and Dylan, and great niece; Cheyanne Services have been untrusted to the Horn family.
