Lawrence Edwin Pennington was born on March 28, 1936 to Aron and Lottie Pennington. He passed away at his home in Daingerfield on June 21, 2024.
A lifetime east Texas resident, Lawrence graduated from Talco High School in the early 1950s. He was a diligent person who knew what hard work meant. He was a truck driver and diesel mechanic most of his life. He was employed at many different places. In his later life, he was the owner of Pennington Diesel Sales and Service in Lonestar and Winfield. He was also the co-owner of Triangle Trucking. He enjoyed spending time with his wife Bettie before her passing in 2014. He enjoyed fishing and target shooting when he had the opportunity. One of his hobbies was boating and camping. He also loved to travel around the United States. In his brief moments that he wasn’t outdoors, he enjoyed watching television.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Aron and Lottie Pennington; wife, Bettie Pennington; son, Vance Pennington; step son, Larry Glenn; step daughter, Elizabeth Monday; son-in-law, Jimmy Campbell; and numerous brothers and sister. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Dawan Przano and husband, Tony, Shonda Campbell;; grandchildren, Grayson VanName, Lindsey Przano, Sean Przano, Tonya Crow, Tammy Wedgeworth and husband Jim, Susan Richardson, Shannon Hall and husband Ronnie, Dustin Glenn and wife Tricia, Donnie Stephens and wife Stefanie, Misty Scallion, Kelly Skidmore, Jarrett Skidmore; numerous great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Vicki Glenn; step son, Ricky Glenn, step daughter, Teresa Skidmore; nephews, Jacky Pennington and wife Carolyn; and caregivers, Edgar and Linda Kerley.
There will be a visitation Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 5-7 pm in the chapel of Horn-Nail-Haggard Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Sunday. June 23, 2024 in the chapel of Horn-Nail-Haggard Funeral Home.







I’m so sad. Mr. P was one of my favorite people. Wonderful man. Prayers for his family.
Papa Pennington fly high with the Angels above. You will be missed deeply and always have a place in my heart 💜.
I will always remember the sweet memories of my young childhood with you.
Papa taught me how to drive a truck 3 on Tree and tractor to mow the back 40. How to drive a boat put it in the water. how to water ski. How to shoot a Deer, then take care of the yearlings that were left behind during the season and let them go and get them next time. Had a ride a horse and take care of the cows and take care of the bulls and make the Biggest Bulls your best friend like a puppy. How to camp and to ALL the cleaning & Setting up. ( I Definitely don’t do camping anymore.) lol So many others, It’s short time with you.
But a lot of Good memories that will stay with me for a lifetime.
You will always be my Papa P.
The one saying that you always told me is to..
Keep on Trucking.
And do whatever you can and never give up on yourself.
because nobody else will.
And I stand by that and I do it every day.
Rest in peace Papa go find your true love.
