Jerri Brooks Steele

Graveside services for Jerri Brooks Steele, 82, of New Boston, formerly of Daingerfield will be held at 1:30 PM Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Macedonia Cemetery in Pittsburg with Pastor Randy Seybert of Church on the Rock officiating. Services have been entrusted to the Horn Family at Horn-Nail-Haggard Funeral Home of Daingerfield. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation from 12:00 to 1:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service. Mrs. Steele was born on May 3, 1940 to L.J. and Viola Richardson. She passed away early Sunday morning, April 2, 2023 at her residence. After graduating from high school, she attended Texarkana Community College where she received her certificate as a LVN. She worked for many years in pediatrics as a nurse where she cared for children from all over East Texas. Mrs. Steel loved nature and especially her dogs. One of her favorite things to do was drink coffee and enjoy the sunset over the lake. She was a longtime member of Life Tabernacle in Naples. A loving mother, Mrs. Steele was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Carlton Brooks, Sr.; Second husband, Jesse B. Steele; brother, Johnny Earl Richardson and sister, Glenda Mae Richardson. She is survived by her sons, Johnny J. Brooks of New Boston, Mark K. Brooks of Cookville, Carlton Brooks, Jr. of New Boston; niece, Angela Kessell of New Boston; nephews, Tony Richardson of Cason, David Richardson of Daingerfield, Robby Richardson of Cason, Glenn Reavis of Dallas and Billy Reavis of New Jersey.
