He was in the grocery business; He spent many years working for Tom Thumb Grocery until 1986 when he felt called to start a general contracting service where he would retire. Around this time, Jack was able to get in contact with his high school sweetheart, Patricia, as they would live out the rest of her life together. After retirement Jack settled and moved his family to Daingerfield where he would spend the rest of his life. He loved to travel and experience the sights with his wife, Patricia, in their motor home. He loved to golf and would play anywhere that he got the chance. Jack also enjoyed giving back to the community. He was known for doing things such as: mowing the neighbor’s lawn out of the kindness of his heart. He always took the opportunity to fish local ponds to put on fish fry's for the people around him. Above all, Jack loved the Lord and would sacrifice his time to do work for the local churches in the area.
