Glenda Flowers Kamuda
July 5, 1951 ~ February 23, 2025
Glenda Flowers Kamuda, age 73, of Daingerfield, TX, passed away on February 23, 2025. She was born on July 5, 1951 in Big Spring, TX, as a twin, to the late L.D. “Buster” Adams and Fern Blacklock Adams.
Glenda attended Stanton High School, graduating in 1969. She married Eugene Flowers in August of 1969 and then became a homemaker for 15 years before embarking on a 23 year career with the United States Department of Agriculture – Farm Service Agency from which she later retired. After marrying, she resided in the Dallas area for a few years, but has called the Jenkins Community home for 50 years. Glenda’s faith was an essential part of her life. She was a member and worshipped at South Union Missionary Baptist church for 50 years, rarely missing a service. Glenda became a widow in 2008 after Gene’s passing and after several years alone met her current spouse, Michael.
Glenda was a devoted servant to Christ, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt her entire life. She loved her family, friends, and church family and cherished spending time with them. She would tell anyone the thing she was most proud of was being a mom to Jeremy and Gina and a grandmother to her 4 grandchildren. In her free time, Glenda enjoyed participating in family events, tending to her garden/yard, and finding solace in her worship.
Glenda was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Eugene Flowers and her parents.
Glenda is survived by her present spouse, Michael Kamuda. She is also survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Cristi Flowers of Arp, her daughter Gina Flowers of Arp, her four grandchildren Alyssa and husband Tyler, Karli, Cole, Cassidy, and great grandchildren Brynn and Brooks. Additionally, Glenda leaves behind her three siblings and their spouses, twin sister Linda and Larry Young of Albuquerque, NM, brother Larry and Carolyn Adams of Midland, TX, brother Michael and Leatrice Adams of Stanton, TX and brother-in-law and sister-in-law David and Judy Flowers of Denton, TX. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews whom she adored.
Glenda will be remembered for her beautiful, sweet smile and her genuine, pure nature. Glenda (Adams) Flowers Kamuda will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all of those whose lives she touched. Her memory will be cherished forever.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, March 1, 2025 at South Union Baptist Church with Bro. Chad Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Clark Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to Horn-Nail-Haggard Funeral Home of Daingerfield. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday, February 28, 2025 at the funeral home.
