Geraldine Marie Gauntt

Geraldine Marie Stelly Gauntt, 86, known to those who loved her as Jerry, passed away on
September 1, 2026. She was born October 23, 1939, in Alexandria, Louisiana, to Adam Stelly
and Fannie Lee Miller. She grew up in Grand Coteau and Sunset, Louisiana, attending Sacred
Heart Academy.

On December 17, 1955, in Alexandria, Louisiana, she married Jack Darryl Gauntt. Together they
built a life and a family that meant everything to her.

Jerry earned a degree in nursing in 1976 and worked for many years as a registered nurse,
bringing skill and compassion to all who were in her care. She was a devout Catholic whose faith
guided her throughout her life, and she was an active and beloved member of the Catholic
Daughters of America, giving generously of her time and talents to her church and community.
Jerry and Jack made their home in Omaha, Texas, and later in Longview, Texas. Jerry moved to
St. Joseph's Catholic Community in Coppell, Texas, in 2024 where, true to her nature, she
quickly made many new friends. She had a gift for connecting with people and delighted in
crafts games and church activities.

Above all, Jerry was a devoted mother and grandmother who took great joy in her four
grandchildren and in every moment spent with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Gauntt Senkowsky of Arlington, TX, son, Anthony
Adam Gauntt of Dallas, TX, four grandchildren, Molly Senkowsky of Dallas, Texas, Emily
Senkowsky of Dallas, Texas, Frances Senkowsky of Lindale, Texas, and Grace Senkowsky of
Aspen, Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Jack Darryl Gauntt; her parents, Adam
Stelly and Fannie Lee Miller; and her siblings, Vergie Gaspard and Laurson Stelly.
Geraldine will be remembered for her deep faith, her warmth toward everyone she met, and the
love she poured into her family. Her presence will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Community Ministries or Catholic Daughters of America, Bridgett Court 2269 via St. Mary’s
Catholic Church.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 6-8 PM in the chapel of Horn Family Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 10 AM, Saturday, September 26, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Longview. A Christian Mass will follow at 11 AM. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Horn Family Funeral Home in Daingerfield, Texas.
