I also shared with her a daughter named Karen Elizabeth, who moved to England in June. Betty was a great comfort to me, and told me how easy it would be to travel to England. God Bless you, Betty. Rest in peace.

She always had a way of brightening they day and putting a smile on people’s faces. We missed her this school year, but were happy that she was retiring to Texas with her family. She loved them very mcuh and beamed when she spoke of her grandchildren. We will miss you Betty.

  16. Stephanie & Patrick Patterson says:

We are very shocked and sad to hear the news about Betty’s sudden death. Our daughter, who is now in fourth grade, had Betty for a teacher in Kindergarten. She is our oldest, and when she started school, we were nervous and excited about as much as she was. Betty was an absolute joy for me to be able to talk with regarding our daughter’s progress and well being. She got me through that year with so much care and support that each following year, we always took time to catch up. I heard all about her daughters and grandchildren and she was so proud of her whole family. She couldn’t wait for retirement. I am so sorry that she won’t be able to enjoy those years now. May God be with you and know that Betty was well loved at her Beach Elementary school community and will be greatly missed.

  17. I loved working with Betty and she did a great job with her students. I taught P.E. @PPMS and one day Betty was lining up her kids at the elevator on the 1st floor. The media specialist called her back to the library because one of the students had left a book. As I turned the corner I sensed that this would be a great practical joke opportunity! So I loaded up her 5 students and we “took a ride”. I went to the 3rd floor, then the 2nd, then back to the 3rd, this went on for about 3 minutes. Meanwhile Betty was franticly running around the 1st floor looking for the kids….somewhat panicked. One of her students commented that “You are a bad man!” Well when we walked out of elevator Betty went off on me and then broke out in laughter. She was great and I send my sympathy to her family and friends. Sincerely Dave Banyasz

  18. Our Kindergarten team loved Betty. She was light-hearted and spunky, and she adored her family. We all have lost so much by her passing, but our thoughts and prayers are with her family. She will always be unforgettable.

  19. I worked with Betty at Northern Middle School and am sorry to hear of her passing. She was a warm person to know and will be missed. My condolences to her friends and family.

  20. Betty was a wonderful friend and colleague. We met in the wonder years of Plum Point Middle School and remained friends through thick and thin. There was a small group of us that originally met at PPMS. As the years went by and Betty, Suzanne and Bonnie went to different schools, we continued to meet on a regular basis to do what we do best, eat and chat. Goodness knows, we were great at that. These times will be missed. I was excited for Betty when she retired and could return to her beloved Texas with David. I am so sorry they only got to spend six short months together there. I cannot believe my short little friend with the thick southern accent is gone, but know she is in heaven with our Heavenly Father. David, Karen and Katherine, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

  21. Betty had a smile that would warm your heart. Kids and co-workers adored her. We experienced a loss when she retired, and now that loss is ten fold. I count myself lucky to have known Betty. My thoughts are with you, her family, during this difficult time.

  22. I am truly sorry to hear about Betty. I only knew her for three weeks at Beach, but it was as if we had known each other our whole lives. She was an exceptional person. My prayers are with you and your family and it was so rightly stated that she is now our Guardian Angel. God Bless

  23. Betty was a true friend who always knew the right thing to say. She had a great sense of humor. I will always remember her expression “You dirty Bird” said with her accent. Betty loved her family and friends. She will be deeply missed.

  24. I was so saddened to learn of Betty’s passing. She was just a lovely lady with a kind heart. My condolences to her beloved family.

  25. An Angel on Earth who has now found her place in Heaven! Love to you and your family.

  30. Betty, God bless you. Patrick and I cannot say enough to properly thank you for the wonderful care you took of him when he was at PPMS. You were such a big part of why he was so successful in high school. Later at BES you were a good friend to me and I was blessed to have been able to meet my son’s wonderful teacher. May you rest in peace.

  31. I worked with Betty at Beach Elementary School. Her smile brightened the hallways at Beach. She was loved dearly by the students and staff. When my son died, she was a shoulder to lean on. I needed her frequently and she never failed to deliver. I will miss Betty greatly.

  32. May God comfort you and your family.

  33. I was deeply saddened to hear of Betty’s death. I will miss her more than words can say. The first time I met Betty I knew that we were going to be good friends. She was such a caring person. We shared about our families and how she knew so many of my relatives at Mt. Harmony church. She was such a blessing to me in so many ways. She loved working with children and always had a smile on her face. We shared many lunches. I will remember the last one just before she went to Texas and how excited she was to move into her new home with David. My thoughts and prayers are with you, David. Karen and Katherine, your Mother was so proud of you both. This is a very difficuilt time in your lives and we pray for God’s love and comfort for all of you. Psalm 23

I promise this to youâ?¦.I will make sure Carson doesnâ?TMt go a day without knowing how much you loved her, and what a special person you were! I also promise to take care of Karen and David in any way they need. 38. Betty only graced our community with her laughter, smile, and charismatic humbling spirit a short time. However, that short time seems so very very much longer – a fact with and in itself that testifies to the great person she was here in this life. A vital member of our Legacy Park family will be greatly missed.
