Funeral services for Dorothy Hargiss, 93, of Daingerfield will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 28, 2023 in the Chapel of Horn-Nail-Haggard Funeral Home of Daingerfield with Bro. Doye Wilbanks officiating. Burial will follow in Blevins Cemetery in Cason. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation beginning at 9:00 AM prior to the service. Mrs. Hargiss was born on February 14, 1930 to Deward and Dolly Mae Long. She passed away on Sunday morning June 25, 2023 in a Hughes Springs nursing facility. Mrs. Hargiss was a beautician for over 30 years in the Daingerfield and Hughes Springs area. She loved yardwork and flowers, having always kept her yard pristine. When she was able, she attended Fellowship Baptist Church in Daingerfield and Veal Switch Missionary Baptist Church in Hughes Springs. A loving, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Mrs. Hargiss was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Hargiss; son, Eddie Richardson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mildred and Bill Thommann, Faye and James Jacobs; brother and sister-in-law, Marvin (Buddy) and Mildred Livingston; brother-in-law, Jerry Kelso; granddaughter-in-law, Brandi Cato. She is survived by her children, Terry and Madeleine Richardson, Teresa and Tim Cato; sisters and brother-in-law, Pat Kelso, Bon and Rex Forrest; grandchildren, Josh Cato, Stephanie Van Houtan and husband Nate, Shelly Wrinkle and husband Brian, Kimberly Husmann and husband Jordan, Leslie Richardson; 10 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Those serving as pallbearers include Tim Cato, Terry Richardson, Josh Cato, Nate Van Houtan, David McFarland and Rodney Kelso.

Such a sweet lady. I loved going to the beauty shop. Her and mom became good friends. She did my hair for every special school event. Always perfect. Love and miss her. Prayers for family.
