Donna Faye Harrell BishopDaingerfield- Funeral services for Donna Faye Harrell Bishop, 67, of College Station will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 28, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Daingerfield with Bro. Don Ross officiating. Burial will be in the Daingerfield Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home. Donna was born June 27, 1945 in Kansas City Missouri to Thelma and R. C. Harrell and died Monday, December 24, 2012 in Wichita, Kansas.Donna graduated from Daingerfield High School in 1963. She earned her Associates Degree in Nursing from Dodge City KS Community College in 1980 where she also achieved state certification as an Emergency Medical Technician.Donna meet her husband, Richard, a local firefighter, while he was instructing one of her EMT classes and they married on September 27, 1980 at First United Methodist Church in Daingerfield.As an EMT and a R.N. who served in the emergency rooms and surgical centers of several Texas hospitals, as well as home health services and hospice care, Donna was a life-giver who touched many souls during her career. She always put her clients first and did what she could when she could, and when that wasn't enough, she helped many families cope with the loss of loved ones.Donna lived to the fullest and she and Richard toured the Southeast United States, enjoying NASCAR races, deep-sea fishing, strolling the white sands of Florida beaches, and visiting many historical areas. Locally, Donna enthusiastically followed her high school sports and of course the famous Fightin' Texas Aggies. Donna loved keeping up with the athletic and scholastic endeavors of her children and grandchildren and was always quick to boast about their achievements. Donna also was a proud member of the Choctaw Indian Nation of Oklahoma, which funded her nursing studies that enabled her to serve so many.So Donna has finally come home to Daingerfield for good, and she will utilize her green thumb in tending the gardens of the Lord with her loved ones and we shall all be reunited again on our chosen day.She was preceded in death by her parents, uncle, Robert Stuart and cousin, Francie Nix. Survived by her husband of 32 years, Richard L. Bishop of College Station; Sons, Rob Tarbutton, Jr. of Wichita, Ks, Jon Galloway of Dodge City, Ks.; daughters, Jessica Soper of Poquoson, Va. and Kimberly Wilkerson of Floresville, Tx.; sister, Patti Guinn of Daingerfield; aunt, Frances Stuart of Lewisville, Tx.; 12 grand children.Dear friends, please make any memorials to the charity of your choice in honor of Donna.Family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M.     Our hearts have an empty space in them where Donna once filled them. She was a joy and a blessing to us. She always had a smile and a laugh that seemed to fill a room.     Donna was absolutely one of the sweetest and nicest friends I’ve everhad. We grew up together during one of the best time of our lives… The 50’s and 60’s!! Our summers at camp were so muchfun. I will miss her so much… Especially texting back and forth duringNASCAR races.
