Christene Hodgson was born on September 20, 1940 to Wiley Morgan Martin and Ada Mauble Wallington Martin. At the age of 84, she passed away surrounded by her family at home on November 23, 2024.
She attended De Kalb high school. At a young age she met her life time husband, Amuel Hodgson. They would go on to have 4 children and celebrate 69 years of marriage. She was a home maker who cared for and raised her family. She was a member of the Church of God in Pittsburg, Texas. She had many passions in life such as: plants, sewing, and crocheting.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Wiley Morgan Martin and Ada Mauble Wallington; son, Ronald Keith Hodgson; sister, Jeweldene; and brother, James Edward.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Amuel Hodgson; daughters, Janet Barkhimer, Sherlyn Hogan and husband, Thomas, Melody Hayes and husband, Mark; 8 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service has been set for Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 1:30 P.M. at the Woodman Cemetery in De Kalb, Texas to Celebrate the Life of Christene Hodgson. The service is under the direction of Horn-Nail-Haggard Funeral Home of Daingerfield.
