Cherry Jacqueline Harris
March 30, 1930 ~ July 31, 2024
Cherry Jacqueline Harris was born on March 30, 1930, to Jack Lester Graham and Verna S. Tidwell. She passed peacefully from this life on July 31, 2024, at her assisted living community in Midlothian, Texas.
Growing up in the East Texas community of Laird Hill, she learned to sew and this talent developed over the years and became her vocation. She owned and managed her own business, Rain Barrel Alterations, which started in Kilgore and moved with her to Daingerfield after her marriage to the late JL Harris. Her business was quite successful, allowing her not only to provide for her immediate family but also build her portfolio. She used her talents to create beautiful clothing for her grandchildren, who knew her as MeMe. Those grandchildren include Emileigh Hubbard, Trent Stewart, Haleigh Hernandez, Christopher Stewart, Kaylee Clark and Kimberlee Stewart. She also has two great grandchildren - Clark Hubbard and Luke Hubbard. Cherry was a faithful servant of the Lord. She was a member of the Chandler Street Church of Christ in Kilgore and later a member of the Daingerfield Church of Christ. She could often be found working in the kitchen, preparing meals, and participating in Monday Night for the Master programs.
She is survived by her brother, Jerry Graham; children Jack and Chris Stewart; daughters in law, Leighann and Trish Stewart as well as the aforementioned grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday August 3, 2024 at 2:00pm at the Daingerfield Church of Christ with family visitation immediately beforehand at 1:00pm.
