Celebrating the life of Carolyn Sue Smith, a resident of Longview, Texas, born on August 7, 1954, in the same steadfast community she cherished throughout her life. Carolyn passed away surrounded by the love and comfort of her family, leaving behind a legacy defined by her loving, caring, and faithful spirit.
Carolyn dedicated her life to her family as a devoted homemaker, a role that she embraced wholeheartedly. Her husband, Dennis Smith, was her steadfast partner in life’s journey. Together, they created a home filled with warmth and kindness, reflective of Carolyn’s nurturing nature.
A woman of deep faith, Carolyn was a long-standing member of the Longview Church of Christ. Her faith was a cornerstone of her existence, guiding her daily actions and interactions. She found solace and strength in reading her Bible every day, a testament to her commitment to her beliefs.
Carolyn’s joys were simple yet profound. She had an unexpected love for playing the Monopoly video game, a hobby that brought her much laughter and enjoyment. Cooking was another of her passions, allowing her to express her love through the meals she prepared for her family. The color yellow, her favorite, symbolized the brightness and optimism that she carried in her heart and spread to those around her.
She leaves behind a loving family who will miss her dearly, including her husband, Dennis Smith; children, Gary Boone, Michael Smith, and Madeline “Maddie” Rosen; her cherished grandchildren, Charley Ray Rosen and Sephra Rosen; and her siblings, sister Judy Wallace and brothers, Jerry Gill and Gerald Gill.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Ollie Gill, and her brothers, Billy Gill and Jessie Gill, who have welcomed her into eternal peace.
Her memory will be honored in the hearts of all who knew her, as she continues to inspire through her enduring example of kindness, nurturing love, and unwavering faith. Carolyn Sue Smith will be deeply missed, yet her legacy will lovingly persist in the lives she touched.
