Candace Jayne Hatten, known to family and friends as Jayne, passed away on January 29, 2026, at the age of 66. She was born on October 13, 1959, in Gilmer, Texas.

Jayne grew up in Lone Star, Texas, where she built lifelong friendships and deep roots in the community. She attended Daingerfield ISD before continuing her education at Kilgore College, where she earned her Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) degree in 1984. Jayne devoted many years of her life to caring for others, working as a nurse in a variety of settings including hospitals, nursing homes, and hospice care. She served her patients with compassion and dedication until her retirement in 2004.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Jones Freeman and Winnie Mae Haley, and by her sister, Jewell Shuffield, and her grandson, Dakota Hunter.

Jayne is survived by her beloved daughters: Candace Giddens of Idabel, Oklahoma, Chasity Childers of Sherman, Texas, and Chancey Gallant of Longview, Texas. She also leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, all of whom were a great source of pride and joy in her life. She is further survived by her sisters, Lynn Davis of Lone Star, Texas, and Paulia Hays and her husband Steve of White Oak, Texas, along with 13 nieces and nephews.

A private interment will be held at Iron Bluff Cemetery in Lone Star, Texas.
