Services for Bruce Dean Rice, 61 of Daingerfield will be held at 2 P.M. Friday, March 6, 2020 at First Baptist Church Daingerfield with Bro. Danny Broughton and Coach Jerry Baker officiating. Burial will be in the Union Hill Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. Bruce was born on March 20, 1958 in Lubbock to Lester Dean Rice and Rose Mary Bolling Rice. He died on Monday, March 2, 2020 in Longview. He worked for U. S. Steel as a warehouse manager. Bruce was a member of First Baptist church and Lone Star Bass Club. He was preceded in death by his father Lester Dean Rice.Survived by his wife, Sherry Lynn Ivins Rice of Daingerfield; sons Travis Dean Rice and wife Melissa of Gilmer, Trent Rice of Diana; daughter Whitney Camille Rice Oney and husband Keith of Mt. Pleasant, daughter-in-law Haley Rice of Longview; mother Rose Mary Rice of Longview; sister Tammy McWilliams of Longview; brother Dewayne Rice of Brock; 5 grandchildren Olivia Rice of Gilmer, Aiden and Avery Oney of Mt. Pleasant, Camille Lynn and Carter Dean Rice of Diana; mother-in-law Nina Ivins of Crockett; brothers-in-law Mike Ivins and wife Betty of Crockett, Gary Ivins and wife Janie of Crockett; 10 nieces and nephews and 12 great nieces and nephews.Donations may be made to Texas Oncology Foundation, c/o Texas Oncology of Longview, 1300 N 4th Street, Longview, Tx. 75601.Family will receive friends from 5 till 7 Thursday at the funeral home. I was sadden to hear about Bruce. I went to school with him and remember him as being such a nice person. Know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers
