Billy G. NixDaingerfield-Funeral services for Billy G. Nix, 83, of Daingerfield will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 13, 2012 at South Union Baptist Church with Rev. Chad Thompson and Bro. Josh Crosswell officiating. Burial will be in the Clark Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home.Mr. Nix was born September 30, 1929 in Daingerfield and died Wednesday, October 10, 2012 in Daingerfield.Billy was a member of South Union Baptist Church and a veteran of the US Navy. He was a former co-owner of S & W Electronics in Texarkana, piloted his own plane across Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Arkansas and was an avid water skier and diver. Billy was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge in Mesquite.He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie C. and Pearl Nix, brothers, Wayne and Truman, and sister Wilma.Survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Nix of Daingerfield; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Paula Nix of Daingerfield; daughter, Sheila Newman of Daingerfield; brothers, W. C. Nix of Tioga, Tx. and Tim Nix of Beaumont ; grandchildren, Brent Strawn and wife Kristin of Austin, Blake Strawn of Daingerfield, Ty Nix and wife Erin of Lone Star, Colby Nix of Tyler, Billy Don Nix of Tyler and Haley Nix of Kilgore; great grandchildren, Hannah, Hollye, Tucker and Lane Strawn all of Daingerfield, Dallas Nix of Lone Star.
