Oh, goodness – was there ever anyone more wonderful than “Mrs Manna?” Her musical talent and drive to make music available to all the kids of the community while I was growing up are the stuff of which lasting memories are made. Our condolences to family, and our lasting thanks to God for her life.
Barbara was such an inspiration to me. She was always smiling and actually took the time to take me to visit TWU’s Nursing Program. We also played the instruments at First Baptist together for years. Although she experienced struggles that changed her life, she taught many great students to play the piano. I am grateful to have known her.Martha Baker
My thoughts and prayers are with you Rosie, Richard, Haley, Bryce and family. May God cover you with His peace during this difficult time. Mrs. Manna is being welcomed in Heaven by her family, friends and the angels… Love you.
Heartfelt sympathies to Frank and Rosie. May fond memories ease your loss. Your mother was a wonderful person.
My thoughts and prayers for the family, I know she has been greeted with open arms heaven, it’s those left behind who must heal. I know your faith and love with carry you through, I will be thinking of you. So glad I was able to know Mrs. Manna and can still see her smile.
My sweet cousin Barbara was truly an angel on earth! She was a beautiful person, who gave of herself to everyone she knew! My life is better for knowing such a wonderful woman. She taught me piano for many years and she taught me much more with her gentle spirit! I will miss her here, but will see her again later! Bye bye Barbara……..love you very much!
My sincerest condolences to the Manna family. I will always be grateful to Mrs. Manna, if it was not for her realizing my deficiencies in music theory and lack of piano skills and offering to teach me for free two years before entering college to pursue a music degree in vocal performance. Had it not been for her I quickly realized I would have not been able to have complete the first two years of music school in college. Thank you, Mrs. Manna for helping me achieve my dreams. “You are the music while the music lasts.†– T.S. Eliot
I began piano lessons with Barbara in 1966. She had and will continue to have a profound effect on my life. Her love of music and of life are forever with me. I still have my first recital piece, “Happy Days in Dixie” and when I look at it I am flooded with beautiful memories of riding my bike from West Elementary to her home on Hughes for my lessons. I have also taught piano and now assist students in various ways. Her passion is being carried forward in my life. I am so thankful, so very grateful, that she was in my life. Now she’s with me every day. Love, Kenton
Barbara was my guiding-light girlfriend as a young teenager. We were classmates and in the band together, and also, her Mom, Rose, was our Sunday School Teacher. Barbara had many of the same strong traits as her Mother had. I spent many happy hours visiting in their home as a young girl and even back then, Barbara was the sweetest, kindest person I had ever known, and probably that I have known since. Her death was a loss to all who knew her. May her family find comfort in knowing that she was a very positive force while on earth, and was greatly admired and loved. .

I can still hear Barbara playing the piano and organ. Such a sweet, kind lady that leaves a great legacy. Sympathy to her family.
