Jimmy Mack Hunter, age 79, of Cason, Texas, passed away on June 29, 2025. He was born on September 10, 1945, in Clarksville, Texas, and grew up in Titus County. Jimmy proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After his service, he built a career as a truck driver, working for several companies over the years. In 1972, Jimmy and his wife, Janice Hunter, made their home in Cason, where they built a life together filled with love and lasting memories. Jimmy had a lifelong love for animals, especially dogs and horses, though he had a soft spot for all creatures. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ezra and Gladys Hunter. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 56 years, Janice Hunter of Cason; his daughter, Janet Griffin of Hallsville; his sister, Dorothy Derrick of Daingerfield; his sister, Mary Camp and husband Gary of Daingerfield; his brother, Gary Hunter of Mount Vernon; his brother, Bruce Hunter and wife Debbie of Channelview; his brother-in-law, Raymond Ryan of Pittsburg; his sister-in-law, Mary Jane Melton of Mount Pleasant; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Horn-Nail-Haggard Funeral Home in Daingerfield. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Blevins Cemetery. Jimmy will be remembered for his love of family, his dedication to hard work, and his deep appreciation for the simple joys in life.
