Kay Terrell Harris

Kay Terrell Harris, 76, of Daingerfield was born on July 6, 1948 to Clifford and Josephine Terrell. She went to be with Jesus on Thursday, June 5, 2025. Kay was an avid reader and was a life long Elvis fan after seeing him in concert. With Christmas being her favorite time of the year, she was one that would decorate to the fullest. She loved her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren but was known as "Nana" by many. Having worked several different jobs through the years, none was as important as her main job as a homemaker. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, June 8, 2025 at South Union Baptist Church with Bro. Larry Trevino and Bro. Chad Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Clark Cemetery under the direction of Horn-Nail-Haggard Funeral Home of Daingerfield. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 PM Saturday, June 7, 2025 at the funeral home located at 400 Webb St., Daingerfield. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her parents; brothers-in-law, Bryan Bassett, Bill Withem, Elwin Harris; sister-in-law, Geneva Honea; nephew, Shane Terrell and niece, Lori Honea Garcia Green. Those left to cherish her many memories include her loving husband of 58 years, Gene Harris of Daingerfield; daughters, Chaurhon Gibbs and husband Mark of Daingerfield, Niki Carpenter and husband Ricky of Daingerfield; grandchildren, Caitlin Knight and husband Dylan, Colton Gibbs, Devin Carpenter and wife Rebecca, Denver Carpenter, Gabriel Carpenter; great grandchildren, McKenna Hegler, Kennadi Knight, Kendall Knight, Brentley Carpenter, Adeline Carpenter, Daisy Kate Carpenter; siblings, Ann Pitts and husband Ray, Mary Jo Withem, Bo Terrell and wife Mary Katherine, Mike Terrell and wife Jane, Ronnie Terrell and wife Rebecca, Tori Bassett; sisters-in-law, Merle Bell, Virginia Harris, Debbie Hart and husband Steve; brothers-in-law, Tracy Harris, Glenn Honea as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
