Billie Faye Traylor
Billie Faye Traylor
December 27, 1939 ~ April 18, 2025
Billie Faye Traylor, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and dedicated member of her community, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2025 at the age of 85. She is survived by her son Kevin Traylor, and grandchildren Garrett, Justin, Grace, and Mary Traylor; and her daughter, Jill Cox, and son-in-law Brad Cox, along with their children, Maggie and Colby.
Billie was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Traylor, parents Homa Martin and Clifton Lynch, sister Carolyn Smires, grandson Jordan Traylor and daughter in law Teresa Traylor.
Born on December 27, 1939, and raised in Daingerfield, Texas, Billie was a proud graduate of Daingerfield High School, Class of 1958. A lifelong servant of her community, Billie devoted her career to public education. She spent many years as the beloved secretary at West Elementary before serving as the assistant to the superintendent at Daingerfield ISD. She later continued her service in education at the administration office in Pittsburg, where she finished her remarkable career.
Billie had a deep love for her community and gave back in countless ways. A woman of unwavering faith, she was a devoted member of the Daingerfield Church of Christ, where she helped implement the cradle roll program decades ago and lovingly taught the youngest members of the church for years. Alongside her husband, Jerry, she also helped with youth group activities for many years—even long after their own children had grown and moved away.
Her love for learning and literature led her to volunteer at the Daingerfield Library, where she not only served, but read nearly every book on the shelves. Her quiet strength, compassion, and selfless heart left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her.
Billie lived out Philippians 4:13—“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”—with grace and determination. Though she battled cancer and other health challenges for many years, her spirit never wavered. She and Jerry never missed an opportunity to travel and spend time with their children and grandchildren, cherishing every moment together.
Billie was a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother, and a faithful friend. Her legacy of faith, service, and unconditional love will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the Daingerfield Church of Christ. A visitation will be held one hour prior. Interment will take place at Spring Hill Cemetery in Rocky Branch. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Daingerfield Church of Christ Youth Group.

Billie Faye was so precious to me. She taught my kids in cradle roll and was always a good Christian example for them. Jerry and Billie were my second parents and I love them so much! I know my mama is so happy to see them in Heaven!

I cannot remember not knowing Billie Faye. She was a kind and loving lady. When you would ask her to pray for you, you knew she would, and always thought she had a better direct line to our Father than most, and she was so spiritual and loved Jesus so much. Love you Billie!
Deepest condolences to Jill, Kevin, and the extended family.
