Odis Johnson

Odis Johnson, 69, of Lone Star was born on August 27, 1955. He passed away on January 5, 2025 in a Longview Hospital. Odis is survived by his wife Alice Johnson of 21 years, sisters and spouses: Mary and Bobby Kennedy of Ferris, TX; Teresa and Wayne Durham of Carrollton, TX; five nephews (Robert Ray, Eric Hinkle, John Lawson, Tim and James Kennedy), one niece (Elizabeth Kennedy), 2 grandnephews, 4 grandnieces, and one great-grandniece; and many loving friends. Odis is preceded into God’s hands by his mother, Lynne Johnson, Twin Brother Henry Johnson, sisters Barabara McAdams and Joyce Lawson Eads and nephew Mark Lawson. Odis was born in Dallas and raised in Mesquite, Texas. Graduated from Mesquite High School in 1973. Attended apprentice school and became a journeyman pipefitter with Local Union 100. Odis and Alice moved to Lone Star, Texas in 2016. Odis loved his dogs. His hobbies were his trains and gardening. He was a skilled woodworker and an artist with glass. He was an all-around handyman. Odis volunteered at his church and was always ready to lend a helping hand. He will be deeply missed. Memorial service is at 2:00 pm on January 26,2025 at Lone Star Baptist Church, 643 N Wildrose St, Lone Star, TX 75668. Services have been entrusted to Horn-Nail-Haggard Funeral Home of Daingerfield.
