Charles Randolph (Randy) Traylor passed away peacefully at his home on August 18, 2024, with his loving wife, Dolly, and his daughters by his side. He is now breathing the fresh air of heaven, face to face with Jesus.
Randy was born on a hot, summer day in Marshall, Texas on August 28, 1946 to Buck and LaMerle Traylor of Hughes Springs, Texas. He graduated from Hughes Springs High School in 1964. After high school he attended Stephen F. Austin State University and East Texas State University. From these schools of higher education, he received a Master of Science Degree in Technology and Master Degree in Education. He had a career that included being a Master Plumber, Master Pipe Fitter, teacher, curriculum writer, Principal and Superintendent of Schools.
He served as Deacon in the Baptist Church for many years and loved to tell anyone about his Lord and Savior. He was a member of over 50 years of the Hughes Springs Masonic Lodge #671 as well as a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Dolly Traylor; three daughters Jennifer and Jimmy Goodson, Karrie Mae Traylor and Tim Tucker; Charlie and Kevin Kennington. Grandchildren; Jeremy and Katie Goodson; Hollye and Kevin Jolley, Mollie Mae and Alex Hutcheson, Madeline McKinney, Lillian Tucker, Charles Tucker, Carter and Callie Wheat, Cade Wheat and Kelsi Curtis, Collin Wheat, Sydney Kennington. Five Great-Grandsons; Parker Goodson, Riley Goodson, Jack Goodson, Langston Jolley, Corey Wheat.
Randy is preceded in death by his parents, Buck and LaMerle Traylor and his older brother, Billy Michael Traylor.
The memories of his laughter and warmth will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Randy is now resting in heaven enjoying his pain free body.
Per Randy’s wishes, his earthly body has been donated to the anatomical board at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be given to the Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas or the Youth and Children’s Ministry at White Oak Community Church in White Oak, Texas..
The family would like to publicly thank Choice Health at Home Hospice, including Billie Kay, his nurse Leslie and their entire team for the unfailing kindness and generosity throughout this difficult time. They guided us in a very personable way that we will forever be grateful.
A memorial celebration of Randy’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August, 25, 2024 at White Oak Community Church 1501 N. White Oak Rd., White Oak, Texas 75693.







Randy was Principal for a couple of years when I taught in Karnack High School. He was an excellent administrator and always a good friend. He was so full of practical advice and wisdom. Praying for all his family.
I’m so sorry for ya’lls loss. I didn’t get to work for Mr. Randy very long but long enough to love him and Mrs Dolly. I will miss him so much. He made a big impact on me and I’ll never forget him. I’m so happy I got to spend one more day with him and hug him one last time. Rest easy now Mr. Randy. Prayers to all the family.

Randy was a good friend and I will always treasure all the fond memories we shared growing up together. My prayers are with you Dolly and your precious family.
Randy gave his life to educate young people. What could be more worthwhile! Rest in Peace my friend.
