Terry was the first of my sibling-in-laws (eight living at the time I became engaged to Lois Byram). It was my first phone call to my parents-in-law to be, Mavis (Slim) and Betty Byram. He asked to speak to me. He was 12, the youngest. I was like, “Who is this sweet little boy?” He was a person who loved and wasn’t afraid to show it. He had a gift with writing poetry and the way he could talk – a regional affectation, perhaps – where every sentence has a rhythm, just like how the late Elvis Presley talked, was amazing to hear. He was always a good “Big Brother” to our kids. He took Stacia to get her first tattoo. He worked hard and loved harder.

Make that “first I spoke to.” Sorry.

  3. My deepest sympathy to the Byram Family. My heart hurts for you.
